When disaster strikes, chaos is not far behind. Evacuations leads to heavy traffic, roadblocks lead to parking lots. Just when you think everyone is trying to get out, you see just as many trying to get in. No one wants to delay the first responders, not the public nor the traffic controllers. Clarify your purpose to reduce your troubles.
60,000 Canadians will suffer from a cardiac arrest this year, and without immediate medical intervention, survival rates are less than 10%. 80% of BC is protected by firefighters who are not waiting at the hall for a page, they are volunteers who respond day or night, 365 days a year. They might be reading to their kids, preparing dinner or at work, when that pager goes off, they switch from storyteller, chef or boss to firefighter, captain. As a community, we cannot have their response delayed. By identifying themselves, the rest of us can yield to them, pull over for them, whatever we can do so that they can save seconds or minutes. When your heart stops beating and oxygen is no longer getting to your brain or organs, the last place you want your First Responder to be is stuck behind a Sunday driver, stopped in Construction or waiting for his turn at an intersection. Identify, Inform, Expedite.
How can you help to put out the fire if you cannot get to the scene. Roadblocks and checkpoints create parking lots and long delays. By informing those around you that you have a role in putting that fire out, paths will form, gates will open, access will be granted.
During large scale events, the press plays a very important role in getting relevant information to the public as it happens. Who needs to prepare to evacuate, who needs to evacuate, where can they go for help, when can they return home? If the media cannot get access to the command centre, or the evacuation centre, then they can't get that information to the public.
Your organization may have a policy that your vehicles are not to have decals or logos; permanent identifiers of any kind - and there is probably good reason for that. There are times when it is in your best interest to identify your role, your purpose, your reason to get past the roadblock, past the traffic jam and to the scene. IdentiVisor can help. It displays custom large format wording, Maltese Crosses or logos. We can print anything you want onto the reflective vinyl; any colour, any design.
We do require valid photo identification and a letter on letterhead from your supervisor for any designs that may imply you are part of an authority or public agency.
Volunteers who are collecting and distributing much needed supplies often use their personal vehicle. They might be driving through evacuated areas, delivering supplies to frontline crews, or distributing food or water to those who didn't evacuate. This can look suspicious. Avoid the potential conflicts with a simple solution - the IdentiVisor.
Contract security guards often use their personal vehicles when protecting people or assets, overnight or long term. They might be hired to protect a fire camp, a movie crew, a laydown yard, a construction site or maybe they are patrolling an evacuated area. Driving a discrete vehicle has its advantages, but there are occasions where you should identify your purpose. Maybe someone is concerned that you are part of the problem, show them that you are part of the solution.
Trying to inform the vehicle in front of you, that you are trying to get to the hall as quickly, and safely, as possible.
When viewed through a rearview mirror, mirrored text reads correctly.
Many government groups drive rental vehicles, leased vehicles or otherwise unmarked fleet vehicles. There is often times when displaying your purpose is valuable. Use the IdentiVisor to clarify your purpose, reduce access delays, reduce suspicion, Identify.
Security management is difficult in an evacuated area. There are still vehicles driving around and stopping them all would be difficult. Is that a Wildfire Firefighter, a health official, or someone with bad intentions? Provide those with legitimate reasons for being there with a "pass" that is easy to see, and easy to read. With a dry erase marker or label maker you can add details to your IdentiVisor.
Anyone who needs access to an evacuated area can benefit from identifying their vehicle to traffic in front of them, or to workers providing traffic control or security check points. Was your neighbours dog just stolen, do you need to call the police? Oh wait, look at the sun visor, it is ALERT Animal Rescue. Let's go see if they want our extra dog food.
Whether you are paid-on-call, volunteer, full-time, an auxillary, or member of a support team; we can make an IdentiPlate for your personal vehicle.
Do you want die-cut reflective vinyl letters placed on a reflective white background? Or do you need to print a logo or Maltese cross onto reflective vinyl? The option is yours.
